You might think that the over-exposion to family life has changed my life. This is true partially: I started asking Alberto if I can read his copy of the Economist and wash the dishes after dinner. But this is not the reason. I was in Athens this week to design a project for experimenting a new economy for Europe.

We have spent months reading and talking about Greece, the EU, the IMF, what Germany does, what Sarkozy said, the markets, deficits, and billions of Euros…and yet we read less and less about the people of Greece. Have we forgotten that we’re talking about the lives and futures of fellow people?

Despite the silence of Vita publisher, I’ve decided to go ahead with my blog. While feedback is lacking, there are several individuals that continue to encourage me to post. I still have something to say, it seems.
I’ve just ordered the last biography of Deng Xiaoping by Prof Ezra Vogel. I usually don’t have any interest in leaders’ biographies. They are celebrities thanks to media coverage rather than deeds. However, I’m fascinated by those that have revolutionized history from behind the curtain. Deng is one of them, and perhaps the right inspiration for whoever aspires to steer social transformation.
